19 Days ’til Halloween, 2014: Massacre At Central High (1976)

Because I have limited time today, I’m doing something extraordinarily different and linking to an article in another blog/website in order to promote today’s film (just read the first and past paragraph because the rest is just plot summary full of spoilers). I’ve no problem promoting the excellent website, The Terror Trap, as well (for their taste, not their spoilers).

I’ll only add to the (first and last paragraph of the) linked article in mentioning that the director, Rene Daalder, though having a very short resume of feature films, should also be recognized for his influence on the aesthetic of early MTV-style music videos. In fact, Rene sought to establish a music video television channel for many years before the idea was kind of “stolen” by MTV thus relegating the story of his influence to pop culture obscurity. I’m also including a Rene Daalder directed music video by the incomparable punk/post-punk band The Screamers (of whom Daalder could be considered an unofficial member).
